Jess and I frequently make all day fishing outtings. The success or failure of those trips will be listed here, along with any other neat pictures relating to the hobby and lifestyle of fishing. Each page listed here will open a new window using a simplistic thumbnail generating PHP script I found online and dropped onto my server. For now, I’m going to run it this way; Wordpress/Cheap photo script, until I do more toying with Joomla.

Red Cedar April 27th, 28th ‘08
My most successful river study thus far has been on the approximate one mile stretch downstream from the Lake Menomin spillway on the Red Cedar river in Menomonie, WI. I have been exploring the same spot on the Red Cedar for around a week around 1 mile downstream from the dam and the rock riffle rapids. I’ve caught over 12-14 different species in this time, with some days seeing 5-6. The days I only catch 4 fish, they’re all usually from completely different families. I have not been skunked once or had an hour without a bite yet. With Jess’s aid stopping by for a few hours everyday, click the entrance picture above to see some great catches in only around one weeks time!
Lone Rock Silos

updated: 4-23-08
Jess and I will find ourselves spending the entire day fishing in Lone Rock at times. They are multiple water types relative to a larger river such as the WI River, found in or around Lone Rock. 3-4 slough-like locations, a couple narrower slower separated channels of the river then the main river channel itself. This is the page to see our photos and fish from this area of the WI.
Chippewa River - Durand, WI
May 1st, 2nd ‘08
Jess and I decided to try out the Chippewa River which has the Red Cedar as a tributary. The Chippewa is similar in size to the WI River which I’m used to, and the Red Cedar nearly similar to the local Pine River I’m used to. However, the Red Cedar is a much better fishery than the Pine. So far we’ve set up camp in Durand, WI at the same bank spot twice and hit quite a few Redhorse runs. We caught enough to keep us busy enough that we became picky with the way we took our pictures!
